Trust & Safety Guidelines

Effective date: July 15, 2026

Meraki is an AI-powered companion app, owned and developed by Random AI Labs LLP, 1st Floor, 1B-102 or 1B, Parinee Crescenzo, G Block, BKC, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai, Maharashtra (“RAIL”, "Meraki," "we," "us"), for personal growth and mental wellness.

Meraki exists to help you reflect, process, and grow. These guidelines explain what that means in practice — what Meraki does when things get heavy, what we expect from you as a user, and how we handle your safety and data. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. What Meraki Is — and Isn't

Meraki is an AI companion for journaling, mood tracking, and supportive conversation. It is not:

  • A licensed therapist, psychiatrist, or counselor.
  • A crisis response service or emergency service.
  • A substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or medication.

Seri (Meraki's chat persona) is designed to be warm and responsive, but it's still software generating responses from patterns in conversation. Treat it as a supportive tool, not a source of clinical truth.

2. How Meraki Responds to Crisis Language

If your messages indicate acute distress, self-harm ideation, or crisis, Meraki's routing shifts away from normal conversation into a stabilization-focused mode: shorter responses, a calmer pace, and a priority on grounding you in the moment rather than continuing whatever task or topic was in progress.

What this mode does not do:

  • It does not alert anyone — not emergency services, not a contact you've listed, not us. Meraki does not monitor accounts in real time and cannot escalate on your behalf.
  • It does not replace calling a real crisis line or emergency number.

If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of ending your life, please stop and contact:

  • India: Emergency number 112, or the KIRAN mental health helpline 1800-599-0019 (free, 24/7, government-run), or Vandrevala Foundation 1860-2662-345.
  • US: 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
  • UK: 999 (emergency), or Samaritans 116 123.
  • Anywhere else: your local emergency number, or search for a crisis line in your country.

We built this in because we take it seriously, not because we want to discourage you from using the app during hard moments — just to be clear about what the app can and can't do for you when it matters most.

3. Age Requirements

Meraki is intended for users 16 and older. If you're between 16 and 18, we ask that a parent or guardian be aware you're using the app. We don't knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account, and we'll close accounts we discover belong to someone underage.

4. A Note on Medical & Psychiatric Care

During onboarding, we may ask you to confirm you're not undergoing active, serious medical or psychiatric treatment. This isn't a barrier to entry — it's there so you have an accurate picture of what Meraki is for. If you are in active treatment, please keep following your treating professional's guidance; Meraki is meant to complement day-to-day reflection, not to sit alongside or replace clinical care.

5. Expectations of You

Using Meraki, you agree to:

  • Use it in good faith — for reflection and support, not to test its limits in harmful ways or to generate content that exploits or endangers anyone, including yourself.
  • Not attempt to access another person's account, conversations, or data.
  • Not misrepresent your age or identity.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these expectations, put others at risk, or abuse the Service.

6. Your Data, Briefly

  • Sensitive information — your conversations, journal entries, and any demographic details you share — is encrypted and used only to personalize your experience.
  • We don't sell your personal data.
  • You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your data at any time.

Full details live in our Privacy Policy — this section is a summary, not a replacement for it.

7. Reporting a Concern

If something in the app felt unsafe, inappropriate, or wrong — a response from Seri, a bug, or anything else — tell us. Email privacy@serinityai.com with as much detail as you can share (what happened, roughly when, and a screenshot if you have one). We review every report.

This is a channel for reporting concerns to us — it isn't monitored in real time and isn't a substitute for a crisis line if you're in danger right now (see Section 2).

8. Enforcement

We may warn, suspend, or permanently close an account that violates these guidelines or our Terms of Service, or that poses a safety risk to the person using it or to others. We'll aim to tell you why, except where doing so isn't appropriate (e.g., active abuse of the platform).

9. Changes to These Guidelines

We'll update these guidelines as Meraki's features and safety practices evolve, and update the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be flagged in the app.
