Meraki is an AI-powered companion app, owned and developed by Random AI Labs LLP, 1st Floor, 1B-102 or 1B, Parinee Crescenzo, G Block, BKC, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai, Maharashtra (“RAIL”, "Meraki," "we," "us"), for personal growth and mental wellness. This policy explains what information we collect through the Meraki web and mobile apps, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email, and profile photo, from Google Sign-In or the email you register with.
  • Onboarding information: an emergency contact and the agreements you accept during intake.
  • Demographic information: age and gender, which you may optionally add later from the app's settings page.
  • Conversations, journal entries, and voice recordings: what you write or say to Meraki, including any images you attach. This is the most sensitive data we hold, and it's used to personalize your sessions and is processed by the AI providers described below.
  • Billing information: if you subscribe, payment is handled directly by Google Play or the Apple App Store — we never see or store your card details.
  • Usage data: general app usage and performance analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate Meraki's chat and journaling features, personalize responses to your conversations over time, process subscription payments, keep your account secure, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third Parties We Share Data With

These services process data on our behalf to make Meraki work:

  • Google — for Sign-In, AI processing of your conversations (Gemini models, OpenAI Models and Anthropic Models), and Google Play subscription billing.
  • Apple — for App Store subscription billing.
  • Turso / hosting infrastructure — for database storage and app hosting.
  • Vercel — for hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms and only to the extent necessary to provide their service to us.

4. Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your account for as long as your account is active and conversation data as per GDPR rules or lesser time as advertised. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, or export of your information, at any time in the settings page of the app or by contacting us (below). Deleting your account removes all the currently saved data of yours from our systems, except where we're required to retain billing records for legal or accounting purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

Meraki is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

6. A Note on Mental Health & Safety

Meraki is a supportive companion, not a licensed therapist, and not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis, experiencing thoughts of self-harm, or in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline right away rather than relying on the app.

7. Security

We apply industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted data in transit (HTTPS), encrypted data at rest (storage), and access-controlled sessions — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we continue to invest in strengthening our protections for sensitive data over time.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Meraki evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and post material changes in the app.
